When does a woman ovulate?

Measuring body temperature is one of the most common ways for women to determine when they are ovulating. A woman's body temperature is usually higher at the beginning of her cycle and then gradually decreases. During ovulation, a woman's body temperature reaches its highest value, usually in the afternoon or evening. This is because during this period, a woman’s eggs are released from the ovaries and enter the fallopian tubes to await fertilization.

Observing symptoms is also an important way to determine when a woman will ovulate. For example, women may experience fatigue, headaches, breast pain, nausea, mood swings, and more. These symptoms usually appear mid-cycle and peak around ovulation.

Observing the shape of the abdomen is also one of the important ways for a woman to determine when she will ovulate. Midway through the cycle, a woman's belly may begin to enlarge and develop a noticeable abdominal curve. This is because during this period, a woman’s eggs are released from the ovaries and enter the fallopian tubes to await fertilization.
