Runny nose after intercourse during ovulation

This symptom usually occurs within a few days after sexual intercourse and may last for several days. Some people may feel unwell, while others may experience mild discomfort, such as a stuffy nose or cough. However, this does not necessarily mean that the patient has a serious health problem.

Some possible causes of a runny nose after ovulation include:

1. Allergies: After ovulation, women’s hormone levels may change, causing them to be allergic to certain substances in the air.

2. Colds: Sometimes, couples may catch a cold even if they do not have sex during ovulation. A cold is a viral infection that can cause symptoms such as a runny nose and cough.

3. Nasal cavity diseases: There is a passage between the nasal cavity and the throat, called the nasolacrimal duct. If the nasolacrimal duct is blocked, tears will flow out instead of flowing into the nasal cavity, resulting in a runny nose.

For patients with runny nose after ovulation, the following measures can be taken:

1. Keep indoor air moist: You can use a humidifier or place a water basin indoors to increase air humidity and relieve the symptoms of runny nose.

2. Rinse your mouth with salt water: Dissolve a teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water and gargle several times to effectively relieve the symptoms of a runny nose.

3. Avoid contact with allergens: If the patient is allergic to certain substances in the air, they should avoid contact with these substances.

4. Maintain good hygiene habits: Wash your hands frequently to avoid contact with viruses and bacteria, which can help relieve the symptoms of a runny nose.

If the patient often feels unwell or the symptoms are severe, it is recommended to consult a doctor for diagnosis and treatment.
