Crucian carp ovulation period

The ovulation period of crucian carp refers to the period when their egg cells mature and are released. This period is usually in spring and autumn, depending on water temperature and climate. During this period, crucian carp will lose its appetite, gradually become obese, and will have obvious reproductive characteristics, such as the scales around the anus starting to fall off, and a transparent film will appear on the abdomen.

At this time, crucian carp will lay eggs, and each egg cell contains about 500 egg cells. The eggs will hatch into fry under suitable water temperature and will spawn again during the next breeding season.

Observation and management of the ovulation period of crucian carp are crucial to protecting fish populations. If the water temperature is not suitable or the environmental conditions are not suitable for egg cells to hatch, the fry will die. Therefore, we need appropriate management and observation during this period to ensure that fish populations are protected.
