Bleeding after ovulation

Post-ovulation bleeding is usually caused by implantation of a fertilized egg, which occurs after the egg and sperm combine and will begin to implant in the uterus. However, because the process of implantation of a fertilized egg is complicated, it sometimes causes a small amount of bleeding in women. This bleeding is usually bright red, but there may be blood or pink or brown bleeding.

Some people may experience discomfort or pain, especially during bleeding. However, most people do not experience any discomfort, which may be due to mild irritation as the fertilized egg implants.

Bleeding after ovulation isn't always normal, but if symptoms persist or worsen, talk to your doctor. Your doctor may recommend tests to determine the cause of the bleeding and may require additional treatments, such as bleeding-stopping treatments or medications.
