How long does ovulation bleeding last?

Ovulatory bleeding usually starts on day 14 of the menstrual cycle, lasts about 2-3 days, and then stops. The amount of bleeding is usually very small, no more than 1/5 of the blood volume, and the color is usually bright red or pink.

Although ovulation bleeding may have some impact on a woman's health, it is usually a normal physiological phenomenon. In most cases, bleeding does not have a significant impact on a woman's reproductive health or her ability to become pregnant.

However, women may need to seek medical help if their ovulation bleeding is heavy, prolonged, or dark in color. In this case, the doctor may recommend that they take steps to stop the bleeding, such as using bleeding medications or performing a dilation and curettage.
