Stomach pain during ovulation

Ovulation is when a woman’s eggs are released from her ovaries into her fallopian tubes. During this process, a woman's uterus contracts to help the egg pass through. This contraction may cause abdominal discomfort, especially in the days leading up to ovulation. This discomfort is often referred to as "ovulation discomfort."

However, sometimes the discomfort can become more intense and may even lead to pain. This pain usually occurs in the lower abdomen and may feel like pins and needles. This pain usually goes away on its own within a few days, but may last for a few hours or days.

For many people, stomach pain during ovulation is a common physiological phenomenon. If you feel uncomfortable, try resting, drinking fluids, or using heat to relieve discomfort. If the pain is severe or lasts for a long time, talk to your doctor to determine whether further treatment is needed.
